Business Development

Creating an environment that attracts business is vital to the progress of our community. One of the best ways we can compete and attract jobs is to maximize the high-tech businesses already here. We are centrally located between Caltech, Methodist Hospital, City of Hope and the Claremont Colleges, making our location key and prime for a high-tech/bio-tech incubator center. We also need to make sure that our city assists businesses by keeping things simple, not over-regulating and basically providing support that “gets out of business’s way.”

The principals that won the Countywide Most Business Friendly City Award a couple of years ago need to stay intact and be enhanced. Personally, I have spent many hours meeting our business owners and asking them what they need from us and how we can be better partners. It’s encouraging to learn how easy it is to help our businesses and I pledge to continue that program.

“Mayor Lutz has always been aware of what is best for the citizens of Monrovia and carries out that goal. Thanks for job well done. We need Mayor Lutz to carry on that job.”

“We at the DoubleTree By Hilton Monrovia would like to extend our warmest gratitude and appreciation to our awesome Mayor, Ms. Mary Ann Lutz. Thank you for your unconditional support, commitment, and contributions to the community for the past 6 years. As a business owner in the City of Monrovia, we are proud to be a part of this great city under your leadership. We look forward to many more future years with you as our Mayor. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
